Team Cooley Issued: 26.06.2020 ** REGRETTABLY DUE TO THE GOVERNMENT MANDATE ISSUED ON FRIDAY 20 MARCH 2020, CROSSFIT IRON DUKE IS CLOSED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE ** Following on from the news today regarding Covid-19/Coronavirus, it is with a heavy heart that we have no option but to offer an alternative method of delivering sessions and classes for CrossFit Iron Duke effective from 20:00 tonight (20 March). As you know we have voluntarily stayed open as long as possible by putting restrictions and changes in place to our standard operation, however this has now been taken out of our control. We do not know how long we will need to offer this alternative method of delivery, and we ask that you all please stick with us and not suspend your memberships. We so desperately want to be able to open our doors, as soon as we are able to and to put this tumultuous time behind us. With the above in mind, and the alternative delivery method of classes to Team CFID, and this is what your membership will cover: • Dedicated home WOD’s • Loaning of dumbells/kettlebells/ab mats/skipping ropes • Dedicated home WOD/online support Facebook Group • Online challenges Dedicated Home WODs All home WOD’s will be live streamed the evening before, in the dedicated Facebook Group at a set time. This will be an opportunity to ask questions etc and you still get to see us! All home WOD’s will be accessible for everyone. Loaning of equipment – from Monday 23 March 2020 We will be loaning out one dumbbell/kettlebell per person, abmat and skipping rope. This will be on a first come, first served basis. There will be a loan agreement for you to complete, and each person will have a dedicated time slot to come and collect the equipment. Regrettably, bars, plates, wall balls, bikes, skis and rowers are unable to be ‘loaned’ out. A further post will follow about this. Dedicated online support Facebook Group. We have set up a new Facebook Group to offer support, home WOD’s, online challenges and interactive streams/chats to keep the community going during this period of closure. We will be as active as possible, and encourage all members to be as interactive as possible too……. Even if its just to ‘banter’ with each other. But we think this page will be vitally important at this time. So please keep an eye out for the invite, as it will be a closed group page. Online challenges Online challenges will be posted on the support Facebook Group, and you will all be encouraged to take part. If you have any queries, questions or concerns, or are even contemplating suspending your membership, then please speak with us. We are here to help and support you as much as possible. Thank you all for your support, and be rest assured we are doing everything we can to keep CrossFit Iron Duke running, so we can open our doors again as soon as we are able. Team Cooley Issued: 20 March 2020 ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ HYGIENE PROTOCOLS 1 - First and foremost, PLEASE DO NOT COME TO THE GYM SICK. We have teens, children, babies and members with low immune systems who will be less resilient to the Covid-19 / Corona virus, as well as everyday colds and sickness (this includes symptoms such as a runny nose, cough and sickness). This also includes bringing any children with you to classes that are also sick. Please do the sensible thing and NOT BRING SICK CHILDREN in with you. This policy also applies to our coaches. 2 - WASH YOUR HANDS. This must be done ON ARRIVAL AT THE GYM – regardless if you washed your hands, or used anti-bacterial gel in the car, and again AFTER TRAINING. Hands must be washed with soap and water, and for a longer spell than normal! There are additional anti-bacterial Gel Sanitisers out on the gym floor and social areas, so please use them in addition to washing, or even during class. 3 – WIPE DOWN ALL YOUR EQUIPMENT. Always after you use it, but there is no harm in wiping it down before also. There are anti-bacterial wipes, plus spray and kitchen roll on the gym floor. 4 – We will be moving to paper towels next week (when the new dispensers have arrived) - instead of hand towels in the social area, and in both the men’s and ladies’ toilets. Hand towels in the interim period will be changed, at least twice a day. 5 – Please pay attention to the below advice and follow it: · Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue or your sleeve (not your hands) when you cough or sneeze · Put used tissues in the bin immediately · Wash your hands with soap and water often – use hand sanitiser gel if soap and water are not available · Try to avoid close contact with people who are unwell · Do not touch your eyes, nose or mouth if your hands are not clean |
